PROKRASTINERING
Velkommen til vår hjemmeside for forskningsprosjektet "Prokrastinering - utsettelsesatferd - hos studenter". I Tromsø består forskningsgruppen av professor Frode Svartdal (prosjektleder), professor Tove I. Dahl, postdoktor Thor Gamst-Klaussen og PhD-stipendiat Efim Nemtcan. Ellers deltar en rekke studenter. Vi har også samarbeid med kolleger nasjonalt, bl.a. Fredrik Svartdal Færevaag og Sjur Granmo. Internasjonalt samarbeider vi med kolleger i Canada, Tyskland, Nederland, Sverige og Finland.
Hva er prokrastinering?
Prokrastinering viser til kronisk utsettelsesatferd - det at personen utsetter ting så ofte at det blir problematisk. Merk at mange former for utsettelse godt kan være fornuftige; prokrastinering er ufornuftig eller "irrasjonell" utsettelse.

Måling av prokrastinering
Prokrastinering måles typisk ved hjelp av skjemaer/instrumenter der personen bes om å vurdere ulike utsagn relatert til utsettelse. Det finnes en rekke slike instrumenter, og de er noe ulikt bygget opp avhengig av hvilken forståelse av prokrastinering som legges til grunn og hvem som skal besvare. Eksempelvis er det flere skjemaer tilpasset studenter og måling av "academic procrastination". Et av de mest populære instrumentene er IPS (Irrational Procrastination Scale; Steel, 2010). Dette instrumentet antas å fungere godt uavhengig av alder, setting og kultur, noe vi har støtte for i en større europeisk undersøkelse ledet fra Tromsø.
